New York Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant was furious after Tuesday's 3-2 defeat to the Pittsburgh Penguins. With under a minute to go, Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin tripped Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad, fairly obviously to most.

Dumoulin never made contact with the puck and clearly swept the charging Ranger off his feet. With :50 seconds to go in a one-goal game, that is hardly an acceptable missed call, regardless of fandom. Gallant was rightfully upset.
Judge for yourself:
During the post-game presser, Gallant was asked about the play. As expected, he laid out his position clearly and concisely.
Gallant said: "There should've been a call on somebody, whether it's goalie interference for us or a trip for them. You make up your mind."

For those unfamiliar with Gallant's temperament, this was his way of saying - sarcastically - that the officials completely blew the call. In no way was Mika Zibanejad guilty of goaltender interference.
Heading into this game, the Rangers were winners of seven straight games. The Metropolitan Division is tightly packed, and each divisional matchup is absolutely critical for playoff positioning. With just 8 points separating playoff teams from non-playoff teams, leaving points on the table simply won't cut it.
So, one gets a sense of why Gallant is so upset about the missed call. Curious what the people think of this call; poll below.
