St. Louis' bench management was atrocious to start Thursday night's tilt against the Edmonton Oilers.

First, they iced the wrong lineup to start the game, resulting in a bench minor (served by Josh Leivo); Brayden Schenn was supposed to start alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Leivo, but Brandon Saad took Schenn's place.

Then, at the end of the first period AND the start of the second, the Blues took not one - but two - too-many-men penalties, one of which led to another powerplay goal, this time from Connor McDavid.

Shocker, I know.

So three bench minors in the first 23:28 of the game; is that good? That level of bench management could be a fireable offense, but perhaps Craig Berube's three-year contract extension - signed in February of this year - could save his neck; for now, at least.
