Noah Corson, son of former NHLer, leaves ECHL team after charges made public

The son of former NHLer Shayne Corson has announced an indefinite leave from his team following reports of charges stemming from his time in Quebec. Noah Corson informed the Utica Comets through his agent that his leave is effective immediately.

Reports from both TSN and Radio Canada state Corson has been charged with sexually assaulting a women under the age of 16 sometime between Oct. 1, 2016 and Jan. 1, 2017. Two others were named in the court documents. However, they can't be publicly named as they were minors when the alleged assault occurred. Corson hasn't entered any plea on his charge at this time. According to the court documents, the other two accussed have entered guilty pleas. It does not say when or what punishment they may have received. One of the unnamed players was a teammate of Corson's with the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL.
Corson, 24, is signed with Utica, but has been playing with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. His highest level of hockey came with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL when he played in two games with the team last season. His father Shayne played for 5 NHL teams over the course of his career, including the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He captained two NHL teams, and won gold with Team Canada at the World Juniors and World Hockey Championship. He also won a Canada Cup in 1991.
The Drummondville Voltigeurs are among three QMJHL teams who currently have players under investigation for accusations of sexual assault.
