Sweden names roster for 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced their roster for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship on Wednesday.

Sweden's roster is mostly set as they only need to make one more cut before submitting it to the International Ice Hockey Federation before the start of the tournament.

Let's take a look at Sweden's roster, which is loaded with offensive talent, including 2023 projected top-five pick, Leo Carlsson. 17-year-old defenceman Axel Sandin-Pellikka, who was given an 'A' rating by NHL Central Scouting in their preliminary draft list, is also included on Sweden's roster.

Before the tournament begins, Sweden will play a pair of exhibition games, first against the United States on December 21st, then against Switzerland on December 23rd.

Sweden will be in Group A for the 2023 World Juniors and will face Austria (December 26th), Germany (December 27th), Czechia (December 29th) and Canada (December 31st).
