In Saturday afternoon's matinee between the New Jersey Devils and the Ottawa Senators, Cam Talbot made an unbelievable glove save to keep things close. At least, up to that point.

The Devils routed the Sens 5-1, but the game wasn't as lopsided as the score might suggest. Make no mistake, New Jersey was the better team, but Ottawa had their moments.

Head coach DJ Smith pulled Anton Forsberg midway through the second period, tapping Cam Talbot in relief. And boy, oh boy, did Talbot come up big. In a 3-0 hockey game, New Jersey had all the momentum, but things took a big shift after this save by Talbot:

This save provided a big jolt for the Senators, who scored a goal shortly after and seemingly had all the momentum. That's the power of a huge save like this, and what's more; Talbot came in cold and made the save. Very impressive.

As great as the save was, the momentum burst would be completely diminished when N.J.'s Yegor Sharangovich scored a shorthanded goal on a Sens' powerplay shortly after. So unfortunately, Talbot's nearly-heroic effort was for not.

Great save though.
