The University of Michigan men's hockey team is in a brutal position right now. They are being forced to dress their third string goalie - Tyler Shea - as a forward due to an illness that has at least seven players out of the lineup.

Additionally, the Wolverines are forced to run 11 forwards and 7 defensemen, solely so they won't forfeit their match against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

One player - Steven Holtz - was even admitted to the intensive care unit. It is believed that a respiratory syncytial virus is the illness which has swept through the Wolverines' locker room.

Common sense would dictate that, perhaps, this set of games would be postponed, given the extreme circumstances.

Alas, no.
