The New Jersey Devils are riding a nine-game win streak heading into Montreal on Monday night. Ahead of the Devils' matchup with the Canadiens, players were made available for a routine media rounds, as is typical.

One reported asked Devils' star Jack Hughes a question regarding the team's consistency through 60-minutes. And the 2019 1st overall pick gave her a savage answer:
Q: "What can the Devils do to gain a little bit more consistency throughout those full 60 minutes?"

A: "I mean we're on a nine-game heater, I'd say we're doing okay," Hughes said with a chuckle.
Over their 9-game win streak, the Devils are outscoring opponents 38-18, averaging 4.22 goals-for and just 2 goals-against per game over that span. Additionally, the Devils rank first in the following advanced statistics per NST:
- Shots For (434)
- Shots Against (260)
- Goals For (37 - tied with VGK)
- Expected Goals-For (39.23)
- Expected Goals-Against (22.87)
- Expected Goals-For Percentage (63.17%)
- Scoring Chances-For (435)
- High-Danger Chances Against (97)
- High-Danger Chances For Percentage (65.23%)
After being basement dwellers for the better part of a decade, the Devils are taking the NHL by storm. During their eastern Canada road trip, they will take on the Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Ottawa Senators before returning home.
