Borje Salming received an enormous ovation after he was introduced during the pre-game ceremony ahead of the Maple Leafs' game versus Pittsburgh on Friday evening. Salming's battle with ALS or 'Lou Gehrig's disease' has left him visibly affected, but the glimmer in his eyes was noticeable this evening.

Darryl Sittler - a long-time teammate of Salming's - was by his side, and once Salming's name was called, the two shared a moment. Truly a heart-warming yet gut-wrenching scene.
The two played together for nine seasons until Sittler was traded in '82 to the Philadelphia Flyers, combining for 1,684 points for the Leafs.
As Salming's difficult battles rages on, the hockey world collectively feels for him and his family, showing just how truly beloved the Swede is in the city of Toronto.
