Now this is quite the store. Over the weekend, former Premier League legend Petr Cech has signed with the Chelmsford Chieftains of the NIHL South Division 1.

"Having a netminder of Petr's quality and experience come into our squad is a huge boost for us right now. He brings a winning mentality, a desire to compete every single time he's on the ice, and we look forward to seeing him add to our group this season," said Chelmsford head coach Mark Saunders.

Cech, 40, is considered by many to be one of the greatest goalkeepers in Premier League history, along with Peter Schmeichel. He appeared in 440 career games between 2004 and 2019. He's won the Premier League four times (all with Chelsea), five FA Cup titles, one UEFA Champions League title and a UEFA Europa League title.
After his retirement in 2019, Cech decided to take up one of his life-long passions, hockey, and signed with the Guilford Phoenix of the NIHL 2, which is one step below where he's signed now. Last season, he went 11-1-0 with a 1.73 GAA, a .930 save percentage and had four shutouts.
