After an unsuccessful professional try-out with the Edmonton Oilers, former sixth overall pick Jake Virtanen has found a new home.

On Sunday, EHC Visp, a team in Switzerland's second division, Swiss League, announced that they've signed Virtanen for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Virtanen, 26, had his contract bought out by the Vancouver Canucks in 2021 after allegations of sexual assault circulated. Formal charges were pressed against Virtanen in January and in July, he was found not guilty by a jury in Vancouver.
Just over two months after being found not guilty, the Edmonton Oilers signed Virtanen to a PTO. In five pre-season games, the New Westminster (British Columbia) native had two assists and five shots on goal.
