According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, a pair players were put on waivers on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET.

The Minnesota Wild have placed defenceman Dakota Mermis on regular waivers, while the Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Lukas Klok on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract termination.

Mermis, 28, has yet to appear in a game this season for Minnesota. The Alton (Illinois) native spent the majority of the 2021-22 season in the American Hockey League with the Iowa Wild, where he tied a career-high in points with 24 (three goals, 21 assists). Mermis will be assigned to Iowa if he clears waivers at Saturday afternoon.

Klok, 27, spent the entirety of his professional career in Europe playing in the Czech Extraliga, the KHL and Liiga. He signed a one-year deal with the Coyotes in July and has appeared in four games with their AHL affiliate, recording no points, two penalty minutes and was a minus-one.

The Ostrava native represented Czechia at the 2022 Winter Olympics in China, putting up three points in four game, as his nation finished ninth after losing to Switzerland in the play-off round. Klok is likely heading back to Europe once he clears waivers and has his contract officially terminated on Saturday.
