Throwing a team's jersey on the ice is a major statement of disapproval that almost always causes a stir. Even when the throw itself makes sense, it is a questionable act. You paid for the threads (which ain't cheap, by the way) just to throw them on the ice and probably give one of the arena staff a free jersey. Awesome.

But this Pittsburgh Penguins fan (presumably) just had the most unnecessary jersey toss of all-time. After the Pens' 6-3 defeat to the Edmonton Oilers, he bundled up his jersey and tossed it over the glass.

First things first, the Penguins are 4-1-1 and just suffered their first regulation loss of the season. They sit atop arguably the hardest division in the NHL. They have three Stanley Cups in the Crosby-era. Why on Earth would you throw a Penguins jersey on the ice? Incredibly weird behavior.
Second, what a gross display of ignorance. Vancouver Canucks fans are forced to suffer through whatever it is that is going on over there, and this fan has the audacity to throw a Penguins jersey on the ice? Absolute JOKE. Total bush league.
Leon is a real gentleman for politely throwing it back. Could have just ushered it into the garbage, but he respects his opponent, the game, and the league. Ultimate good guy behavior.
Now that I think about it, this video offers a prime example of yin & yang; the balance between good and evil. One dufus throws a division leaders' jersey on the ice and another cleans it up and offers it back.
That's what life is all about, after all: balance.
