Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher had some high praise for his long-time teammate Carey Price during Monday's post-practice media availability.

Gallagher said that Carey Price's number 31 should be raised to the rafters of the Bell Centre someday. While Price never won a Stanley Cup, Gallagher said that the star netminder did a lot throughout his career and had plenty of success.
"To me, there's no doubt when you talk about the impact he had, you talk about the success that he's had. When you came to the game, people came to watch Carey Price play. That's not something usual. People want to see goals, people want to see excitement, but was flashy and exciting and, at the same time, calm and poised." Gallagher said according to Sportsnet's Eric Engels.

Gallagher went on to add, "He's done everything to deserve it. Obviously, it would've been nice to have won a Stanley Cup and then there wouldn't be an argument. He got us there. It's hard to say, but it would be fair to say he'd have gotten us there another time if he hadn't been hurt (in the 2014 Conference Final). He just did so much throughout his career. I think you look at the names and the jerseys up there -- I understand all the Cups -- people specifically came to see those players. Pricey was that guy people came to see."

Gallagher and Price have been teammates for 11 seasons now and have been pillars of the organization in that time. The entire Canadiens fanbase likely agrees with Gallagher when he says Price's number 31 will be the Bell Centre rafters one day.
Price is the Canadiens' franchise leader in wins (315), games played (712), and wins in a single season (44). If Price somehow returns and plays in one more game, he'll tie Georges Vezina for most seasons played in a Canadiens uniform with 16.
For many fans, the 2014-15 season will stand out as Price went 44-16-6 in 66 games, earning the Vezina Trophy, Hart Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award and William M. Jennings Trophy at the NHL's awards ceremony. He also won the Lou Marsh Trophy as the top Canadian athlete in 2015.
