The head coach of the Winnipeg Jets had to cut short his planned media availability in order to get checked out by doctors. According to reports, Rick Bowness started having dizzy spells while in front of the podium and felt it best to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Bowness recently sat out a game after coming down with COVID-19. It was not his first bout with the virus.

Mike MacIntyre of the Winnipeg News states Bowness had been experiencing dizzy spells just before the availability was supposed to take place, but was insistent that he go out and get it done. However, he had to leave before he was finished.

It has since been announced the Bowness will sit out Monday night's game.

Bowness was named head coach of the Jets in early July after the resignation of Paul Maurice during the 2021-22 season. Dave Lowry was interim coach of Winnipeg until Bowness was hired.
