Toronto Maple Leafs' star forward Mitch Marner was hit into the boards by Winnipeg Jets' defenseman Dylan DeMelo during their matchup on Saturday night. There was no call on the play.

Marner looked up and saw no delayed penalty was to be handed out. He skated to the bench where he wiped blood from his face. There also appears to be an imprint of the dasher across his face. Marner approached the officials at the end of the period presumably to discuss the non-call on the play.
The Leafs knew this could be a rough game - they dressed forwards Kyle Clifford and Wayne Simmonds in preparation for Winnipeg. There are likely conversations happening in that locker room heading into the second period after several hits on the Leafs' star players.
