There are many who thought Jakob Chychrun might no longer be a member of the Arizona Coyotes by now. Instead, the prized defenceman hasn't played a game since March 12th, and it appears he won't be suiting up for a bit yet.
Just a week or so ago, Chychrun resumed skating, leading many to believe his return was imminent. However, head coach Andre Tourigny told the Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch that still needs a few weeks after attempting to do battle drills and still having pain in his wrist following surgery. Chychrun met with a specialist Friday and has returned to Arizona.
Chychrun, a former 16th overall pick, is just 24 and could easily fit into a rebuild for the Coyotes provided it doesn't take a decade. However, all signs point to him being traded instead, and there are sure to be plenty of potential suitors. The quicker Chychrun plays, the sooner talks are likely to heat up.
