You would think that roasting the Toronto Maple Leafs would fall out of style after years and years of it from all sorts of media pundits. Alas, it does not.

Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs fell to the Arizona Coyotes in their own barn, despite being the heavy favorites. Fun fact: the last time the Leafs defeated the Coyotes in regulation at home was October 17, 2002 -- 20 years to the day to last night's game. YIKES.

Perhaps the ridicule stops when the Leafs win a playoff series. It's in the palm of their hands, they just need to do it. Until then, we get to enjoy all the Leafs-bashing we want.

Really, Leafs fans are the source of half of it. In a self-deprecating, self-loathing type of way. 22 Minutes co-host Trent McClellan let it rip this morning in a monologue, jesting over the Maple Leafs' woes thus far.

Personally, I found McLellan's monologue a little corny, but it was still funny enough. It can't be easy to do comedy on network television. You basically have to be a cornball, you can't swear, and you have to keep it PG. Basically, the antithesis of comedy.

Still, who doesn't love a nice Leafs roast?
