The Winnipeg Jets announced today that head coach Rick Bowness will miss the team's contest tonight against the New York Rangers. Bowness tested positive for COVID this afternoon.

Bowness is the second-eldest head coach in the NHL at 67 years age; a spry sixteen days younger than the Bruce Boudreau, the league's senior ranking bench boss. Hopefully, Bowness is able to kick the virus with little to no surprises.

The Jets open their season tonight, which makes Bowness' condition even more disappointing. Meanwhile, the Rangers ride in 2-0 already and firing on all cylinders, which could spell trouble for Winnipeg.

So far, there is no word on whether or not a breakout is a concern. Although, maximum security measures are likely being taken.
