The Montreal Canadiens announced on Tuesday that they've agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with 2022 second round pick Owen Beck. According to CapFriendly, Beck's contract is worth $2.85 million ($950,000).

Beck, 18, was selected with the first pick in the second round (33rd overall) by the Canadiens in July's draft. With Beck now signed to his entry-level contract, the Habs have now inked their first three picks in the 2022 draft after Juraj Slafkovsky (1st overall) and Filip Mesar (26th overall) signed in the summer.

The Port Hope (Ontario) native's two best qualities in his game are his faceoffs and his hockey IQ. Beck spent the 2021-22 season in the Ontario Hockey League with the Mississauga Steelheads where he put up 51 points (21 goals, 30 assists), 14 penalty minutes and was a plus-17 in 68 games. He added six points in 10 playoff games.

Beck will likely be sent back to Mississauga at some point this week, but he's certainly shown the Canadiens' management staff that they made the right choice with their first pick in the second round. It won't be long before he finds himself in Montreal.
