The Philadelphia Flyers just released episode one of a full-access, behind the scenes docu-series, and it is both well-done and entertaining. The series will document the club's first training camp under head coach John Tortorella, who is hammering the mantra of 'setting the standard.'

More teams should do series like this, as it is both a great way to connect to fans in a meaningful way while also generating added cash flow in a seriously lucrative content field. Besides, who has better access to the players (i.e. the source of 98% of content) than the organizations themselves.

Tortorella looks like he has the Flyers' players fired up and bought into what he is selling. The team's composition is suspect, however. Even when healthy, they are a long-shot to make the playoffs, and healthy they are not.

Ryan Ellis is expected to miss the entire season, Sean Couturier has a puzzling back issue (although the team is hopeful), Joel Farabee is still rehabbing a disc replacement surgery had in June, and with the nature of the sport, they likely will not be the only ones bitten by the injury bug.

While the Flyers' on-ice product might be tough to watch, their content team is doing a great job.
