Long-time NHLer Joe Thornton has become one of the biggest class acts in the league over his illustrious career. Currently, he is practicing with HC Davos, as he does every offseason, and there are reports of him having a job lined up for once he retires from the sport.

According to SRF, the 43-year-old has agreed to become the Head of Sports of the Spengler Cup at the time of his retirement from playing the game.

Spengler Cup president Marc Gianola did not confirm or deny the rumor, but it seems that they have something up their sleeve for Thornton.

"This is just one of many options we have offered him."

Thornton is still currently searching for a team to play with this season in pursuit of a Stanley Cup. He did play with the Panthers last season in more of a minimal role, tallying five goals and five assist in 35 games.
