With the type of resume Pierre McGuire has, it's not really surprising that he didn't need to wait long for his first job after recently being let go by the Ottawa Senators. McGuire lasted less than a year as the Sens' Senior Vice President of Player Development, after serving in the broadcast booth for several years. Now, he's back.

"The NHL Draft is a few days a way. Be warned , I am told. For reasons no one can explain, at a time of cuts to really talented people [Sportsnet] the network has decided to bring in Pierre Mcguire who will be on your tv for the draft & perhaps more. - YYZSportsMedia, Twitter."

The draft is set to take place in Montreal on Thursday, July 7th. Free agency opens on July 13th at noon ET. Perhaps we'll see McGuire taking part in that as well.

McGuire is, let's just say not universally liked when it comes to his broadcasting career. He knows his stuff, there's no question about that. His ways of delivering that information can be awkward and downright annoying at times, though. McGuire had previous management experience before joining Ottawa. He had served as an associate and head coach at various levels of hockey, including the NHL.
