Former Toronto Maple Leaf third round pick and current AHL Chicago Wolves' forward Josh Leivo has been awarded the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the Calder Cup Playoffs MVP.

Leivo put up outstanding numbers for the Wolves these playoffs. He had 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points in just 15 games played for Chicago.

After being drafted by the Leafs, he spent six years with the organization before moving on to Vancouver and Calgary. Currently, he is under a two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes that expires this summer.

Perhaps the 29-year-old winger still has more to give at the NHL level. In the prime of his career with the Leafs and Canucks, Leivo was averaging 30 points for every 82 games played. Look for a team to give him an opportunity this offseason to make their NHL club following his AHL playoff MVP performance.
