Like many teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Tampa Bay Lightning host watch parties of their away games. Fans typically pile into their home building and watch the game together. Most of the time, this is simply putting the game on the big screen and sounding the horn when the team scores.

The Lightning took it one step further. The did indeed put the game on big screen, but they also put their 3D projector and the league's player tracking technology to good use. The Bolts organization was able to project where each player was on the ice at any given time - live tracking their movements in sync with the game being played.

If you every wondered what player tracking was all about. Apparently, now you have one answer. It seems like a cool experience. More teams should consider offering something like this in the future.
