It's great when hockey teams make fun of each other. The latest incident comes from the Anaheim Ducks, who decided to take a little dig at the Vegas Golden Knights after a trade made on Thursday.

If you haven't heard yet, the Golden Knights traded forward Evgenii Dadonov to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Shea Weber's contract. Weber is essentially retired, although he'll remain on LTIR as long as possible to continue collecting his salary. The Golden Knights' reward is extra cap space. When announcing on Twitter that Dadonov was being shipped out, the Anaheim Ducks had a great response.

Rewind back to the trade deadline this past season, and the Ducks thought they had acquired Dadonov from Vegas only to have the trade overturned by the league. Dadonov had a limited no-trade clause which allowed him a 10-team no-trade list. Anaheim was one of the teams he had listed, but there was confusion over whether the NTC had expired. It hadn't, and the trade was axed.

The initial trade with Anaheim was along very similar lines to the one Vegas just made with Montreal for Weber's contract. In the scenario with the Ducks, Vegas would have sent Dadonov and a second-round pick to Anaheim for John Moore and the contract of Ryan Kesler, who is also essentially retired and will stay on LTIR for the remainder of his deal.
