The Columbus Blue Jackets announced on Wednesday that they've signed goaltender Daniil Tarasov to a three-year contract extension worth $3.15 million ($1.05 million AAV).

According to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, Tarasov's contract will see him earn $750,000 during the 2022-23 season, $1.05 million during the 2023-24 season and $1.35 million during the 2024-25 season.

"Daniil is a big, athletic goaltender who exhibits great poise and calmness in net," said general manager Jarmo Kekalainen. "We were very impressed with his play last season before he was injured and are excited to see him continue to develop and grow in the years ahead."

Tarasov, 23, only played in eleven games in the American Hockey League with the Cleveland Monsters where he put up a record of 5-3-3 with a 3.06 GAA, and an .893 save percentage. He also appeared in four games with the big club in Columbus, sporting a record of 0-2-0 with a 2.40 GAA, and a .937 save percentage.

The Novokuznetsk native's season came to an end early as he underwent surgery in February to repair his right hip, but is expected to be ready to go for training camp in September.
