Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron is the 2022 winner of the Frank J. Selke Award. The Selke is awarded to the league's best defensive forward. Bergeron has been a finalist for this award 11 years in a row and this is his 5th trophy.

Bergeron passes Bob Gainey for most Selke trophies with the 2022 award. He was the overwhelming favorite and beat out Panthers' Aleksander Barkov and Flames' Elias Lindholm for the trophy this season.

Boston Bruins' head coach Bruce Cassidy commented on his Captain's play earlier this season.

Bergeron's future is uncertain as the Bruins were eliminated in the first round. There have been whispers of retirement, and even if he comes back, it will likely be on a year-to-year basis.
