Chris Tanev was visibly laboring after he returned to action vs. the Edmonton Oilers. Shortly after their demise, news of his injuries came out & they were extensive. A separated shoulder, torn labrum, & a sprained neck reportedly plagued the defensive stalwart. However, he spoke today & dispelled the report, clarifying the true nature of his injuries. They were still pretty bad:

No sprained neck, which is a relief. Playing with a neck injury, while heroic, is incredibly dangerous, and many believed it to be an reckless move by the team to clear him to play through that. Also, he had a dislocated shoulder rather than a separated shoulder. A small distinction but a distinction nevertheless. His recovery, as mentioned by Salvian, is expected to take 4-6 months.
