Canada took on Czechia in the second Semi-Final of the day at the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship in Finland.

The Canadians got into some penalty trouble in the first period and Czechia capitalized on that, with former Boston Bruins forward David Krejci making it 1-0 a little over seven minutes in.

With just over thirty seconds remaining, Canada got on the board through Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens.

In the second period, it was all Canada, who exploded for three goals in 3:19, with Adam Lowry, Kent Johnson and Mat Barzal netting the goals.

Flash forward to the third period and the goal onslaught continued with Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cole Sillinger scoring his third goal of the tournament to make it 5-1 Canada.

Shortly after Sillinger's goal, the Czechs were given a penalty shot, and Head Coach Kari Jalonen turned to David Pastrnak to take it. Pastrnak was turned aside by Chris Driedger and the game stayed 5-1.

Nearly seven minutes remaining in the third period, Dylan Cozens scored his second goal of the game to put Canada ahead 6-1. Czechia challenged the goal for offside, but after a lengthy review, it was determined that the goal stands and the Czechs were given a two-minute minor penalty for delay of game.

Canada will now face off against Finland in the Gold Medal Game at the World Championship for the third consecutive year, with puck drop set for 1:20 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Czechs will look to win their first medal at the 2012 World Championship when they face off against the United States in the Bronze Medal Game at 8:20 a.m. ET.
