After four games at the World Championship, Sweden is one of the top scoring teams, recording seventeen goals. Despite that, they're adding more offensive talent as they chase their first gold medal since 2018.

On Friday, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced that Toronto Maple Leafs forward and 2017 tournament MVP, William Nylander, to their roster for the remainder of the World Championship.

Nylander, 26, has represented Sweden on several occasions, most recently at the 2019 World Championship where he led the tournament in points with eighteen points (five goals, thirteen assists) in eight games. He also played at the 2017 World Championship and put up fourteen points (seven goals, seven assists) and as mentioned, was named tournament MVP.

It's unclear as to when Nylander will join up with the team in Tampere, but Sweden has three preliminary round games remaining before the quarter-finals. They'll face the United States on Saturday, Norway on Sunday and Latvia on Tuesday.
