The Jack Adams' Trophy is awarded to the coach who 'contributed the most to his team's success.' The NHL's Coach of the Year finalists are:

Andrew Brunette, who took over for Joel Quenneville in Florida earlier this season, inherited a pretty favorable situation. The team was already quite good, but under him they continued their dominant campaign & won the President's Trophy. He's a pretty natural choice for a finalist, as his team was the best regular season team & set the NHL's record for goals scored in a season. Some may argue the team would have had their success regardless of their coach, but that's moot. He is their coach & they set records. Jack Adams finalist.

Gerard Gallant, in his first season with the Rangers, pulled a lot of the right strings & got a middling team into the playoffs & into the second round to boot. Pretty impressive. The Rangers went from out of the playoffs to a second-place finish in arguably the toughest division in the NHL. While Igor Shesterkin can assume most of the credit for the Rangers' success, Gallant changed the way they played & had them humming for most of the season.

Darryl Sutter came into Calgary & immediately made an impact. The Flames had a tough stretch despite having a quality roster. Sutter comes in & they win the Pacific Division & were one of the NHL's toughest opponents this year. Brad Treliving should probably receive a nomination for GM of the Year too, realistically. But Sutter did all the right things for the Flames this season & deserves this nomination.
