Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry took the ice today prior to the team's optional skate. This is the first time Jarry has hit the ice since sustaining a foot injury on April 14.

Coach Mike Sullivan did not want to speculate on when Jarry might see some game action, if at all, during this series against the New York Rangers. He did comment that it was uplifting to see the Penguins' starting goaltender getting some work in with goaltending coach, Andy Chiodo.

Presumably, this is the first step in Jarry's return to the Penguins' lineup. He would likely want to participate in a team practice before suiting up for a playoff game. This news came just one day after it was reported that Penguins' backup netminder and starter for Game 1, Casey DeSmith, underwent season-ending core muscle surgery.

Tonight, the Penguins will face off against the Rangers once again. The series is tied 1-1 heading into Pittsburgh. Louis Domingue will start in net for the black and gold looking to bounce back after a mediocre Game 2.
