For months leading up to the NHL's trade deadline, Arizona Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun was a hot commodity, with many teams trying to acquire the 24-year-old. Unfortunately for the Coyotes, Chychrun suffered a season-ending ankle injury just a week before the trade deadline, which likely hampered their plans.

During Saturday's exit interviews with the media, Chychrun was asked about a potential move away from Arizona and it didn't sound like he wanted to be dealt.

"I don't know. I'm signed for 3 more years. The trajectory of where the team is going & a lot of that stuff is important to me. I want to be in a position where I'm getting to play a week from now, not packing up," Chychrun said according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.

The Boca Raton (Florida) native was in his sixth season with the Arizona Coyotes, who picked him with the sixteenth overall pick in 2016. In 47 games, he put up 21 points (seven goals, fourteen assists), 47 penalty minutes, and was a minus-20.

Moving a player like Chychrun would leave a big void on the Coyotes' blue line, but given their reported ask, a young player, a high-end prospect and a first round pick, it may be tough for General Manager Bill Armstrong to hold onto him, should a team pay up.
