The NHL's Department of Player Safety (DoPS) announced two separate fines for Colorado Avalanche players on Saturday afternoon, one going to defenceman Kurtis MacDermid and the other to Logan O'Connor.

MacDermid was fined $2,187.50 for kneeing Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno. The incident occurred during Friday nights contest and resulted in MacDermid being ejected from the game. Many expected a suspension to come from the play, but with playoffs up next, the DoPS chose otherwise. Wild head coach Dean Evason was outraged with the hit after the game, but didn't have an update on Foligno was forced to leave the contest.

O'Connor received a $1,812.50 fine for a cross-check delivered to Wild defenceman Dmitry Kulikov. This play was dangerous as well, as it resulted in an unsuspecting Kulikov going heavily into the boards, something that Evason was none to pleased with as well. Thankfully for the Wild, he was able to stay in the game and appears to be ready to go for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
