It was a season to forget for the Philadelphia Flyers. The team has finished 2021-22 with a record of 25-46-11, sitting dead last in the Metropolitan Division. With members of the team conducting end-of-the-year interviews on Saturday, it was clear no one was happy about how things went. That goes double for defenceman Ivan Provorov.

The 25-year-old former first-rounder has always been one to speak his mind, and he sure did that Saturday. He was asked how he would evaluate his season. Provorov's answer was dripping with sarcasm.

"No matter what I say, you guys are going to give me your own grades," Provorov said with a sneer. "It doesn't matter, you're all experts in hockey, so you're going to give me all your super experienced grades. I don't think my opinion really matters to you guys."

"I don't need anyone to write glory stories on me," Provorov continued. "You all have an opinion and I have my opinion, so, yeah."

It's far from the first time Provorov has been short with reporters. That said, this isn't exactly the way to endear yourself to a fanbase. There's plenty of blame to go around for the way the Flyers' season went, and Provorov certainly deserves some of it. Making $6.75 million for the next three seasons, Provorov scored nine goals and 31 points this season, with a dismal minus-20 rating. That is his worst +/- rating since entering the league in 2016. Provorov and the Flyers have some serious work to do in the offseason.
