Pittsburgh Penguins Unveil New 2022-23 Jersey Advertisements
The Penguins are the third team to unveil their jersey ads for the upcoming season.
The NHL is bordering on desperate to drum up new money for the League after the COVID pandemic struck a huge dent in club revenues.
The idea is quite controversial, as some believe there are alternate means of generating revenue that don't desecrate on the greatest uniforms in all of sports; the hockey sweater.
Especially troubling is the notion of the traditional sweaters -- Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Bruins, etc.
Even more so when one considers the revenue these clubs take in per season, hard to imagine such a need for increased revenue. That said, money talks & it doesn't a single hoot about optics; just profits.
