Montreal Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur was interviewed over the weekend by Le Journal de Montreal about his friendship with Mike Bossy, who passed away on Friday following a battle with cancer.

The 70-year-old Lafleur was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2020, and in his interview, he opened up about his health and mentioned that he was stopped taking medication because he wants to have a good quality of life.

When asked how he feels, Lafleur replied with "It 's rough , it's painful."

He went on to say, "My weight has dropped to 169 pounds. That doesn't make sense!

I no longer take any medication. I dropped all that at Christmas. I want to have a good quality of life. I take life as it is."

The Thurso (Quebec) native spent parts of seventeen seasons in the National Hockey League playing for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Quebec Nordiques, amassing 1,353 points in 1,126 career games.

Our thoughts continue to be with Guy and his family at this time.
