It's become the standard that Darryl Sutter's press conferences make great content. Usually his quick wit & calm delivery make for comical soundbites with sarcastic undertones. Sometimes he cracks open his insanely deep wisdom in the sport of hockey, and he says something profound.
That was the case this afternoon when a reporter asked the coach about MVP candidate Johnny Gaudreau. Sutter had this to say:
Johnny Gaudreau has been lights out this season. After being on the receiving end of enormous criticism the past couple of years, his haters haven't had any ammo this season. He leads all players in 5v5 points & his underlying statistics are insane. See here:
