After having his 10-team trade list disregarded on deadline day, Evgeny Dadonov told reporters he wasn't overly upset by the whole situation, despite having every reason to be.

«I kind of try and be a pro,» Dadonov said. «I've been around the league. I understand every decision, so I wasn't really mad. I just have my right and was just waiting.»

That right, Dadonov is referring to, is the 10-team no-trade clause in his contract. That list included the Anaheim Ducks, and was seemingly forgotten about on deadline day as the Golden Knights attempted to trade him there in order to create more cap space for themselves. However, after taking two days to look into the situation, the NHL vetoed the trade and Dadonov is back with the Golden Knights.

«I would say it was a stressful couple of days,» Dadonov explained. «(There was) nothing I could do. I was just waiting on the decision.»

It seems any thoughts of the 33-year-old being sour toward the organization are not accurate, as he had arguably his best game of the season on Thursday, recording a goal and two assists in a big 6-1 win over the Nashville Predators. With the win, the Golden Knights are just one point shy of the Dallas Stars for the second wild card position in the Western Conference.
