This has been a pretty wild NHL season by all accounts. Some teams have fallen from grace while others have risen from the ashes; all in all this regular season has been anything but regular (special thanks to NHL Marketing for that one). Amidst all the surprises that make us jump out of our seats every night, there are players who live in the spotlight. Auston Matthews. Connor McDavid. Sidney Crosby. Jack Hughes. These players we hear of every night, all day, and even in our dreams. That's because they are amazing & inspire awe on an hourly basis it seems. But what about the other guys? (Not the Marky Mark/Will Ferrell buddy-comedy) What about the unsung heroes? Well, they won't be unsung for long, as I'm about to sing their praises with the volume on 11.

First things first, some criteria for what defines an unsung hero. Rule #1, a player's team can't stink. So Jesper Bratt is out. Rule #2, they must get a disproportionate amount of "love" compared to their on-ice output. Rule #3, after Rules 1 & 2 there are no rules. Let's get started.

Unsung Hero #1: Valeri Nichuskin

Unsung Hero #2: Phillip Danault

Unsung Hero #3: Jaccob Slavin

Unsung Hero #4: Jacob Markstrom

Unsung Hero #5: Mackenzie Weegar

Unsung Hero #6: Ville Husso

These six players must be at their best & then some if they're going to have any chance of winning the greatest trophy in sports. Who will come home victorious?
