Vezina Favorite Igor Shesterkin Gets Pulled vs. New Jersey Devils

The New York Rangers' Crown Jewel Igor Shesterkin had a tough showing Tuesday night against the up & coming New Jersey Devils. The opening frame featured a typical Igor performance. One where he bailed out the Rangers' defense again and again while surrendering only one goal. However, the second period is where the Devils' explosive offense went to work. Ryan Graves opened the scoring and the Devils never looked back. They rang up Shesterkin for 5 goals in an 11-minute span. The Rangers did their young netminder no favors in this one, taking three minor penalties--two of which resulted in goals against--and playing errant defense at 5v5. Jack Hughes would add two highlight reel goals in quick succession. Here's the second one:

After a poor showing vs. a supposed bottom-5 team, the Vezina Trophy favorite Igor Shesterkin looks to bounce back against the Pittsburgh Penguins Friday night, while the Devils look to build off of this win vs. Toronto tomorrow Wednesday night.
