Former Montreal Canadiens forward Artturi Lehkonen took to social media on Tuesday, one day after he was dealt to the Colorado Avalanche. He thanked the Canadiens and the fans for a memorable six years.

"I want to express my thanks to @canadiensmtl and the city of Montreal for the past six years. It always felt like a second home to me and it has been so because of my great teammates, awesome fan base and top-notch organization. I will never forget my first games with the Habs or memories I had with my friends during this time. All good things come to an end at some point and now it's time for a new exciting chapter in my life with @coloradoavalanche.

Clear eyes, full hearts"

Lehkonen spent parts of six seasons in Montreal, recording 149 points (74 G, 75 A) in 396 regular season games. He's currently on pace to have a career year, sitting at 29 points with his previous best being 31 during the 2018-19 season.

The Piikko (Finland) native will be remembered by Habs fans for his two-way play and his never give up attitude. One moment will stand head and shoulders above the rest. June 24th, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, Game 6 against the Vegas Golden Knights, Lehkonen scored the overtime winner at the Bell Centre to send the Montreal Canadiens to their first Stanley Cup Final since 1993.

His father, Ismo, wrote a post on his Twitter account, thanking Montreal and former Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec for being a mentor to his son.

"I feel like I also need to thank ⁦@CanadiensMTL, fans, players, coaches, media members, etc. Arsi came to the city as a boy and left as a man. That is the number 1 thing I'm proud of as a father. Special thanks ⁦@TomasPleky14⁩ who had a huge role as a mentor. #gohabsgo"

Lehkonen was introduced to the media in Denver on Tuesday afternoon, but it remains unclear if he'll make his Avalanche debut tomorrow night against Vancouver or Friday against Philadelphia.
