It's not the season Ottawa Senators goaltender Matt Murray was hoping to have. Through his first six games, he had a record of 0-5-0 with a 3.26 GAA, and an .890 save percentage. This led the Senators to send Murray down to the American Hockey League where he appeared in two games with their affiliate in Belleville.

In late-December, the Senators called Murray back up to the NHL and that's where he's been ever since. Then, in mid-February, he suffered an injury against the St. Louis Blues that kept him out of the line-up for just over ten days.

Murray hasn't played since March 5th, when he allowed eight goals on 31 shots against the Arizona Coyotes and it appears that he's suffered another injury, this time that may keep him out of the line-up for the remainder of the season.

According to TSN's Claire Hanna, the Senators aren't saying what exactly Murray's injury is, other than it's upper-body related. She mentioned that Head Coach D.J Smith gave the impression that Murray won't play again this season.

Murray, a native of Thunder Bay, has appeared in twenty games this season for Ottawa, putting up a record of 5-12-2 with a 3.05 GAA, .906 save percentage, and one shutout.
