The Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, and Vegas Golden Knights have come together to offer their support for a newly-formed junior hockey league by West Coast Hockey Sports and Entertainment.

In a joint statement by the four teams, they said, "As the game of hockey continues to enjoy unprecedented growth, this is a significant step forward to not only help retain the top players from many of these areas, but to provide them with the best opportunities and resources to pursue their hockey dreams. We are pleased to help support this new venture and we are excited to see how the league evolves and develops."

The league will be based in the Western United States and begin play in the 2023-24 season with six teams, potentially growing to twelve in the years to follow.

This will be big for the development of hockey players on the West Coast of the United States. When Wayne Gretzky came to the Los Angeles Kings, he helped grow the game of hockey in California and the interest for hockey grew exponentially, which led to the NHL expanding into Anaheim and San Jose. This new league will help produce players from California, Nevada, etc. that will go on to play in the NCAA then potentially the NHL.
