Usually the week before the NHL's trade deadline, teams will scratch players that are likely on the move. This is done so that teams don't risk their player getting hurt ahead of a potential trade.

Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis announced after Tuesday's morning skate that defenceman Ben Chiarot, who's garnered interest from teams around the league since November, will be a healthy scratch tonight against the Arizona Coyotes.

The New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, and others have all been linked to Chiarot over the last several months.

Chiarot, 30, has appeared in 54 games this season for Montreal, tallying 18 points (7 G, 11 A), 42 penalty minutes and is a -18. The Hamilton (Ontario) native is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
