As reported by Allan Mitchell of The Athletic, there is a good chance that Stuart Skinner will be traded in an attempt to upgrade the Oilers crease in the next several months.

The idea is to trade Stuart Skinner to the Winnipeg Jets as part of a package for Connor Hellebuyck. The latter is in the final year of his contract and is anxious to win a cup before his career is over. Edmonton has a far higher chance of winning the cup in the near future than Winnipeg so this could work, in theory.

Can the Oilers afford to move Skinner?

Stuart Skinner is one of the best young goalies in the NHL and was a finalist for the Calder Trophy this past season. He also has multiple years remaining on his contract at an affordable cap hit, does it even make sense to trade him?
