Tonight was Tyler Bertuzzi's first game against the Bruins since signing with the rival Toronto Maple Leafs. He is already under scrutiny for his handling of an interaction with a former teammate.

Maple Leafs Defenseman Goes Down After Dirty Hit

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Timothy Liljegren was involved in an unfortunate play tonight. He was hit with a nasty slew foot by Brad Marchand. The hit forced Liljegren to leave the game with an injury.

How is that not a penalty!?

Liljegren leaves the game

Naturally, the Toronto Maple Leafs were irate about the play not only that it wasn't a penalty but the fact that their teammate was injured. Fans did notice though that former Bruin Tyler Bertuzzi did not seem to have the same angry reaction that the rest of his team had.

Bertuzzi Under Fire For Tasteless Reaction

Tyler Bertuzzi was brought in to be a physical presence with a scoring touch. He was part of the brigade that was supposed to handle opposing players who took liberties with the rules. Tonight his reaction to the Timothy Liljegren injury has left fans disgusted.

After Liljegren was injured Brad Marchand looked to come over to the Maple Leafs bench and get into it with some of the Toronto players. The Maple Leafs players were understandably upset all except for one. As many of the Toronto players stood up for their fallen teammate against Marchand Tyler Bertuzzi can be seen watching Marchand and laughing.

Bertuzzi's lack of anger and regard for revenge in the name of Liljegren has left a bad taste in some fans' mouths. Bertuzzi was meant to be right alongside Ryan Reaves in standing up for teammates and was not there tonight. He will likely have to hear questions about his lackadaisical response in the coming days.
