Some major news concerning a former controversial coach in Calgary has erupted in the last few hours.

Controversial Former Flames Coach Attempts Return

In november 2019, some serious allegations were made towards Bill Peters, the Flames' head coach at the time.

Former NHLer Akim Aliu accused him of using racial profanities in his junior days. Then, another player came forward, saying the coach hit him and a teammates.

It looks like four years later, the ex-coach is attempting a return in pro hockey.

An insider linked him the the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the WHL.

Here' what Greg Wyshynski reported:

"Sounds like ex-Flames coach Bill Peters could resurface as head coach of WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes, as @gdrinnan first reported. Might happen as soon as Wed.

Peters resigned in 2019 after Akim Aliu said the coach directed racial epithets toward him in the minors.

It's been 13 years since the incident happened and four years since Aliu brought Peters' actions to the public's attention.

It's my understanding that Peters only sought an audience with Aliu last week through a third party, apparently in anticipation of this job opportunity."

Peters spent six seasons in the NHL, four in Carolina and two in Calgary.

Do you think Peters should be banned from the NHL?
