Back at the last trade deadline, many fans were happy to see Jesse Puljujarvi getting traded.

In Edmonton, he was unhappy. He wasn't performing well and all the talent in the organization prevented him from truly proving his worth.

With the Carolina Hurricanes, many thought he'd rise to the occasion to perform but he didn't.

Since his junior days, he has shown a lot of potential. That's why it was so disappointing to see him play like that for the past few years.

He'll be an UFA on July 1st and according to an insider, the Canes won't make him an offer.

Puljujarvi's Done in the NHL?

It has been reported that unless another team wants to give him a chance, he'll leave the NHL this summer.

"Jesse Puljujarvi is unlikely to receive a qualifying offer from the Hurricanes, and will likely become an unrestricted free agent," per Frank Seravalli.

"There is belief Puljujarvi's time in the NHL is done, and he will begin searching for opportunities in Finland, or the KHL."
