The Red Wings and a former top 10 pick are agreeing to end his contract in hopes of a new start elsewhere.

Zadina and Wings Part Ways

Back in 2018, the Red Wings selected sniper Filip Zadina 6th overall and had high hopes for him. However, he has yet to live up to the hype and has been lackluster in the NHL.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli announced today that Zadina and the Red Wings are agreeing on a mutual contract termination.

Zadina is betting on himself by walking away from over $4 million. If this gamble pays off, he could make 10x that but it will require him choosing the best situation to go into.

He will now become one of the top free agents available.
